I have a single line report field for a person's name. I can determine the data's proportional TXTWIDTH() based on the font used before printing, but I would like to detect if it will overflow the report field beforehand. In case of an overflow, I would want to abbreviate the name (i.e., make the first name a first initial only). I cannot find a function to read the width of a report field.
