I guess, I should be using Jim's suggestion, but for unknown reason I prefer to save value (or checksum - Mark's idea) in GotFocus and check it in LostFocus. In my case I want to take action only if the value was changed, so your method would not work...
Anyway, it's a simple thing...
I'm waiting for suggestions about Record is in Use thread... My colleague thinks, that the problem is in application itself and I have to find it. My guess is it related with our Network configuration and could not be fixed inside application. The reason for my thought is that this problem could be reproduced only in "busy" time, e.g. when more than 15 users are in the system. I could not reproduce the problem from home at night...
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
