Why not? As far as I know the TAG property is ment to be
used by us for purposes just like that. Alternatively You
could use the COMMENT property.

Another Idea is not to save the content of the editbox
but a checksum created with the content.

If the Editbox is bound to a table-field You could also
work with curVal() and oldVal() and forget about the
before and after.
