In fact, I realised in the end that it was easier and considerably faster to write my own rather simple barchart class that establishes the number of bars and sets the size of shape boxes etc. It's faster and does what I want on gthe graphic front at the moment. I may need to resort to the heavy stuff later. Thanks again.

Anyway check MS Chart activex ( Check Thread #570325 Message #570338 ) sample code. It has multiple variations (like charting from array, cursor etc). You could adopt it more easily then writing yourcharting code.
