>Using VFP 7. My report has a group band. I want to total up the values in the VOLUME field (numeric real number) at the end of each group. Have added a report variable nVolumetotal. In the group band, I have added nVolumetotal as an 'ab' control. I have the calculate mode to "sum" the value VOLUME, resetting to 0 for each group. But it doesn't work. Ive tried various variations on this theme. I do get some value coming out but its too high. Any clues? Thanks volumes...

Denis,
I don't think you need a variable for that.
Copy & paste Volume field to group footer. Set calculate expression to sum and reset at groupname (VFP is clever enough it'd fill some for you).
