Ya know, VFP is pretty cheap. dBase II sold for $800 a copy. Why not just give MS a taste, and provide your customer with a full blown runtime. You can remote-in and fix problems or walk your user through a repair on the phone.
VFP is a lot cheaper than the program you wrote. The MS Fox team will enjoy their bonus - and nothing like a profitable package to keep those guys hacking in the improvements.
