Microsoft SQL Server
I remember back when I first started to work with SQL server, I read that you are supposed to avoid text data types at all cost. Becuase the data is stored in a seperate file... Well I have encountered a situation where I might need to store more than 8000 characters, which is the max for a varchar. After a little research I found the option for storing text in the row data, which stores the data in the row if its under a specified size. I was wonding if anyone has used this option before? If so did you notice any performance issues? etc...
