Arthur,
Can't the memory sticks on that mainboard dictate a slower buss speed? You might check the tech specs at Intel.com.

>I noticed upon startup that my Linux-Mandrake 8.2 server displayed the message, "Assuming 33MHz system bus speed for PIO modes." Now this is running on a 2U server I threw together using an Intel D815EFVL motherboard and a Celeron 850 with 128M RAM. It's not physically a speed demon but I don't need a wind tunnel to keep the thing cool, either. My point is the processor bus speed should be 100 MHz. Why might Linux determine to set the speed to 33 MHz? Even in it's current configuration, it already runs circles around a similar box (with 512M RAM) running NT 4. Can I somehow get the system to operate at full bus rate and get even more speed out of this thing?
