I have an email reply from Monte D. West, Publisher, Montgomery County News to my question as to the reliability of Doc Hennessey's source. He passed on the snopes link to Doc Hennessey and states that Doc is verifying his source. However, since a couple of newspapers printed the same story more or less, it's possible it was just passed down--very common in editorials.

>>I can see there is such book (
Dumbing Down Our Kids: Why American Children Feel Good About Themselves but Can't Read, Write, or Add), but why one should state Bill Gates said that, while that still is posted in the so called "Montgomery County News", isn't that weird? (maybe it's a phony newsplace).
