I couldn't agree with you more that these statistics speak volumes. Not only do most of these jobs require other skills, but I noticed a large percentage where VFP is listed under "Skills nice to have". VB, SQL, ASP are required to get your fit in the door. VFP knowledge might help you get the job, but is not required.
I have a friend in Seattle, MS' hometown who bemoans the fact that VFP hardly shows up in the job list for there at all. At least you had 1....Whooooo Hooooo.
