G'Day Nick,

As you correctly suspect, SQL reserved words (like VALUE, DESC, TOP etc) cause havoc when the internal SQL generator makes the INSERT or UPDATE statement for your view. Renaming your field (perhaps to VALUE_ - note the underscore) should do the trick.
