I think it's plainly obvious that no usability testing of any sort has ever been done here on the UT.

In particular the guidelines for Home Page Design (http://www.useit.com/alertbox/20020512.html) are completely ignored.

If you ask developers who don't come here why they don't, the number one reason they give is poor site design.

It's not getting better, IMO. The graphics (which I'm surprised to read many people think are good) are awful. Easy proof of this would be if the tooltips were turned off, nobody could do anything.
