I forgot to mention this problem is in VFP 6.00, just in case that makes a difference. I am using it as a dropdown list.

Are you using your own class for this by any chance, this could explain why you never have a problem with them.

Doing a search on "grid combobox" seems to indicate a lot of folks are struggling to use combos in a grid.

I have this working now as per the example using a field statement on a normal table, but I had to use a replace command in the valid of the combo to update the underlying table.

I have had a miserable time getting things to work as I want, this always happens to me when using combos in grids.

>I have no idea why you are having such problems with a combo in a grid. I use them all the time with no problems. In grids, there is a problem if the control is a Dropdown Combo instead of a Dropdown List. As for SelectOnEntry, remove the K from the Format property of the combo.
