Title:
Maximum Size of VFP Files
I am having some problems with VFP 6.0 when the data files get in the 10-15 MB size.
The problem seems more severe in the Windows NT Environment.
With launch, the program performs a number of tests on the source files and I am starting to get "Not a Table" messages when the files get large. I have a Utility that rebuilds the files from backup structures to deal with this but it is becoming annoying for a few of my clients.
In Windows NT 2000 there is no ScanDisk so I have then activating CHKDSK every Friday night so it will run CHKDSK on the Monday morning. This has helped but there are still problems. So I am now thinking I should be asking them to run Defrag as well and I don't actually know if Windows NT 2000 has a Defrag Utility like Windows 95/98.
Has anyone else had problems with dealing with files in the order of 10-15 MB in the Windows NT Environment? If so what should I be telling my clients?
Thanks.
Mike Smith
