>What I am asserting though is that it is far far more reasonable for me to believe the Bible than for a scientist to believe in evolution. Why? Not because I've tossed reason out the window but that there are FAR more 'proofs' for the accuracy of that text than anything else. IOW, it's just plain the most reasonable thing to do - given all of the evidence.

Evidence? Bah. The idea isn't to take conclusions (the bible) and find facts to support it. The idea is to take the facts and find a conclusion.

I could tell you that I think Beethoven had been reincarneted as Ingview Malsteem and find indisupuatble facts to support it. But guess what, any rational person would be thumbing the yellow pages for the funny farm on my behalf after that.

Of course, isn't that said in the book? Right before, "if your own mind fails you, thats cause god made you so you can not undersntand, so look in the book."

Gee, is that not a clue or what?

>I have absolutely nothing whatsoever to fear should you read the Bible with an open mind at all.

I've read the many parts of the bible. Most recently, the stories about Joseph. Guess what, they're not that good. If I had to choose some tales to base faith on, it would at least be interesting. Like Star Wars or Tolkien's Middle Earth.
