This wouldn’t be the first time bad laws were passed in a climate of fear. Remember the early 80’s and the “crack” problem – which resulted in a series of drug laws which have resulted in more than more than 1 million citizens imprisoned on petty drugs charges. This country complains to other nations about human rights abuses when we have more people in jail then most. I think we rank up there with China?
