Hilmar, with the binary memo field I user Append Memo .. From .. and for the general field I used Append General .. From ... I dont think you can use any other command to get data into these field types? Anyway, for both I added a 400Kb Jpeg file to a single record. In both cases the FPT file was also 400Kb. I am using VFP7. Did you perhaps Append the same memo field more than once during testing? If so then you would get FPT file bloat.
