One of these days I have to buy you lunch or dinner! I am in Bridgewater, but I have clients in your area. You always know the answer, to everything, and even when you aren't responding to my post, I'm reading your replies to someone else's posts, so I'm learning from you all the time!

Anyway, if you saw my own reply to my original thread, you will see that I eventually realized what you referred to in message #612556, i.e., that VFP does not store the path to the free table anywhere in the view definition. So I am in fact now doing what you suggested, i.e. using a set path statement. It is not ideal, but it works.

Also, I am curious as to how you are seeing/replying to a private message that I sent. I sent two messages, one to Cetin Basoz, and one to Ken Matson, separately, in addition to the one that I posted to ALL. Is it the case that even when you send a message directly to an individual that it still shows up in the threadlist? Sometimes, when sending a private message to a friend on the thread, I say things that I might not say in a public forum!
