Does it mean the refresh method fires but the code doesn't work well - or does it mean the refresh method fires and works well if you have messageboxes in it?

BTW: Try to use STRTOFILE() instead of MESSAGEBOX() to prevent from implicit event firing due to the VFP kernel which can falsify the results!
