Well, I am assuming you are talking about an ethernet network. In this case, some data collision is normal. But, excessive data collision is not good...refer to your manuals for the hubs/switches. It may be that you simply have too much network traffic for your equipment to handle and you need to add some equipment (ex. a switch dedicated to the server).
