Hi again Len,

>>Well, I'm certainly open to new research and so forth but as far as I know Jim every single time that some geographic or historical incident has been mentioned in the Bible it's been proven out by research.

>Obviously my lack of education again, so where can I find the research proving the biblical version of creation, seems we could save quite a lot of money by stopping funding of research into all sorts of things if that has already been proved.

Well, if you have predetermined that the notion of creation is false I suppose that no amount of evidence will convince you.

Let's start here: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."

At this point it all depends on how big you god is I suppose. I'll leave it at that. If you're really interested as opposed to something else go to www.icr.org or www.marshill.org or www.ldolphin.org. There are plenty of resource links at these three sites to keep you busy for a while <g> if you're really interested that is. <s>

Indeed. Even evolution which is founded mostly on junk science. <g> You do bring up a great point though and that is that these are often not intellectual or fact-based decisions but moral choices.

> Back in the 70's a lot of research proved that aliens had visited Earth in historical times. To those that wanted to believe, the evidence that the pyramids were built by aliens was conclusive, to the rest of us it was obviously twisting a few known facts with a few coincidences to build an unsustainable argument. To those who do not believe in your religion, the research & the proofs will seem the same.

No argument here. But, I am not nor ever would I ask anyone to believe without thinking or to abandon reason for faith or anything whatsoever like that. I am asserting and always have that faith and reason are not mutually exclusive. Now.. I will concede that what one believes may certainly be open for examination. For example, my good friend Craig Berntson and I have a number of differences in what we believe. I happen to think I have a better case and I'd think so does Craig. Who decides? My usual and typical answer would be to just suggest that folks look at the facts - but I totally agree with you that people are quite capable of self-delusion in the name of faith. One need only remember the Hale-Bop comet suicides in San Diego to prove that.

Again, my point Len is that people should be willing to lay their prejudices (pre-judged or pre-determined conclusions) aside and look at the evidence as it exists. I have no fear of that approach whatsoever and I encourage it.

I have found over the years that most folks (and myself at times, as embarrasing as that may be - but who cares about pride when the truth is at stake? <s>) have a tendency to intellectual laziness and moral terpitude.
Best,

DD
