>>>I'm in one of the non-settling states and will not vote for our AG when he runs for reelection. IMO, it is a huge waste of money. But, you are correct...people want it both ways. FWIW, the companies that cry foul are no better. For example, if you install Real Player, it takes over everything it can.

>Thanks for reminding me - it was accidentally (kids) installed on my machine, and I've just uninstalled it now. One of those... for me, Real is a dead format. If anyone is publishing sound or images in non-standard formats (meaning mp3, mpeg), that's their problem that I can't get them.

>BTW, in Control Panel, it says Mail - but it doesn't do anything with my OS-level registered email client, it deals with Outlook. Just like the Internet Options have nothing to do with your IP and other general Web settings - they are all about IE, regardless of which browser you set as default. So I'd rather stick with the nine states (solid, liquid, gasseous, plasma, depression, agitation, confusion... can't remember the remaining two).

FYI, RealPlayer on Linux is RealBehaved. No problems with it at all. It is just another app and I control mime action.
