There are many different translations, some that contradict each other. The most widely accepted English version is the King James version. There are many places where the text is printed in italics, which means the translators were unsure what the translation should be.

Sometimes it is impossible. For example, in Greek, there are many words that mean "love". So, the love between a husband and wife is a different word than love between a parent and child and still another word for love of fellow man. In Greek, these passages take on different meaning because of the different words, but in English, it's just "love".
