Hi Steve,

>< I'm certainly open to new research and so forth but as far as I know Jim every single time that some geographic or historical incident has been mentioned in the Bible it's been proven out by research. />

>That’s not true. The very existence of Moses has been called into question. There was a wonderful show on A&E a few months ago about the “historical Bible”. I think the Bible is a matter of faith – a metaphor so to speak. Some of it is based on truth – as are all legends, and some of it is not. Does it matter?

Actually, your message made me rethink how I should have phrased my original message. I'll try again and see if I can get a little clearer. <g>

There are no disproven Biblical incidents. There may well be some that would fall into the "not yet historically confirmed" category such as Moses but that doesn't invalidate or negate them. ALl others that have had historical and/or archeological evidences discovered have been found to be true.

Interestingly enough, here's a link that might add to the discussion: http://www.baseinstitute.org/index.html In particular, check out the Mt. Sinai sub-link.

Thanks for your message!
Best,

DD
