I will keep you up to date on how things are going. I have a project deadline for a client at the moment. So for the last week, I haven't had a lot of time on the Report Preview control. I did however, add the code to support pages to be of any size in a single report. Therefore pages can be Portrait or Landscape within the same report as well as having pages of Legal or Letter from the same print out. Now it is a matter of designing how I want to add the features to a standard FRX file to tell my engine to change the pages layouts and such. The FRX table structure cannot be modified or VFP will refuse to open it. I am going to add this to the wish list though so we could have support for an FRXX type structure much like the DBCX. There isn't any reason that this couldn't be done. However, I know that changing the order of objects on the report causes the FRX to be rewritten in the correct order and so VFP would have trouble keeping track of the records other than they could be using the UNIQUEID on the object while in the Report Designer Tool.

One idea is to create my own table structure and start using that for future Report files. Then add a hook to the Project Manager to open up my designer rather than the VFP one. Which I have tested and works so at least your reports could still be in the Project Manager appropriately while still supporting an extended FRX table structure.

I'm also looking for ideas as to what developers are looking for in an Object Oriented Report Designer/Tool. So, if you have any ideas you can email them to me.
