That works great thanks alot. One more question. If I wanted to check
more than one field how could I do that I've tried the following but
it did not work.

SQLEXEC(lnAccess, "UPDATE mytable SET mytable.name = 'Test Name' WHERE mytable.filename = ?tmpdata.filename .AND. mytable.filenum = ?tmpdata.filenum")
