ROF,L Linux and Apache have always been OpenSource. Apache runs twice the number of web servers that IIS does. Microsoft is closed source (excpet for the six weeks the Russian crackers spent wondering around the MS Campus network downloading the family jewels, which MS denies, so that leak is discounted). Despite these facts, on a percapita basis Microsoft has 9 times the security holes that Open Source has.
I could go on with tons of listing of MS attempts to generate fake fears about Linux, OpenSource and the GPL. but a simple Google search on "microsoft anti-linux FUD" will generate most of them. An interesting aside is that stories on msnbc or zdnet which point out Microsoft culpability are usualy deleted or missing from those web servers where they first appeared. Wiithout the Google cash we wouldn't have proof that they were real at one time. Why is it these two sites have such high 4XX error rates on stories of MS wrong doings? JLK
