It frequently means that the indexes are corrupted. Do you have indexes on that table? If so, delete them with DELETE TAG ALL and recreate them.

Since persistent relations in the DBC depend on the indexes, you would probably want to use a product like Stonefield Database Toolkit to automate table/index maintenance.
