I downloaded the the ISOs from their website and burned them on CDs about a month ago.

Tonight, I decided to install Mandrake and play with it.

One word: WOW!

The install and maintenance apps are the best yet, for either Linux or WinXX. Installation isn't even worth mentioning.
Mandrake features 'supermount', which automatically mounts and umounts removable media, if one is inclined to use that tool.
The update/patch utility is as easy as 'urpmi packagename' and it is done, or one can click a mouse.
My connection to RoadRunner was nearly transparent and automatic - I just toggled one radio button to select dhcp-client.
Same for my scanner, after selecting the make and model #.
