One nice item to watch out for these evenings is the Skorpion constellation, rising in the east - the best-named constellation, IMO, together with the "Southern Cross" (also visible in the evening).
I think the Skorpion should still be visible in your latitudes - I understand that for a viewer at 50 degrees north (like Germany, or, I believe, a typical USA latitude), it isn't visible in its entirety.
I believe the Southern Cross should also still be visible, at your latitude.
