I have a third option: why leave VFP, merely to use a back-end database? The speed of VFP to manage local data cannot be beat by anything that must use ODBC or other remote data connectors. It is very fast to process data locally. For extremely huge amounts of data, however, it is good to have a back-end data engine. The best of both worlds is when you use Foxpro to quickly process data and use another back-end to manage a large repository.
