Fernando;

I understood your point. You have not said anything to apoligize for as far as I am concerned. You are simply expressing your opinion. We are all in the same boat when it comes to working with companies. Attorneys at every corner just waiting to "jump on you".

Yes, it is nice when we can work together with a company to attempt to improve a product. Sometimes a company will listen but not often. Companies have to make money to pay their attorneys and do not always have time to listen to customers! :)

I worked for Ampex Corporation. One of the patents we had was for Video Tape recorders. Ampex invented video recording. We had one department that did nothing but examine each VCR and VTR manufactured and sold. Any manufacturer who did not pay royalties to Ampex for the technology we had patented would be referred to our legal department. We made millions of dollars off of licensing our technology and millions more from lawsuits. Reality can be very ugly in the business world.

We may do something innocent concerning our business approach – such as use of a logo and end up being sued. Not a position anyone wishes to engage in that I know.

Tom

>>I am sure the Microsoft attorneys would be happy to speak to your attorneys about the finer points of this matter. I do not think Microsoft is under any obligation to qualify each act of its business with everyone who has questions.

>Your reply goes against what I said: "Think the word "freedom" says much, and think "cooperation" says a lot too. AFAIK, we are all in the same boat (MS and we, the VFP developers), and also think the idea to have a "powered by" logo is to join us even more, and not to make us apart from each other."

>Of course they have no obligation of anything! Think you missed my point here (cooperation, work together, dismiss misunderstandings etc), sorry if I couldn't make myself clear enough.
>
>If I offended you or anybody else with my words, please accept my most sincere apologies, that was not my intention.

>PS. I have no attorneys, I'm just an ordinary Brazilian guy. In Brazil we don't need attorneys to show a "demonstration of respect...", but I can understand and respect your way of life.
