Removing the alias is simply Replace All expr with strtran(expr, "{alias here}.","") (I think alias should be lowercase); not sure if the alias was sometimes in the Name field. And just plain browse and replace shouldn't turn a table (even a .frx table) into a VFP table, so you should be safe here.
