This bug is 'fixed' with VFP 5.0a. There is no official report that the bug was fixed, but the problem with combo boxes and timers seems to have disappears. Lately I have cautiosly started to use timers again. One thing I have been reluctant to do is create timers that run continuously. I just use timers now to create delayed behavior (in a poor attempt to keep VFP responsive.)
