But the point remains that I cannot diverge too far from the look MS gave FoxPro. In C I could have as cutting edge looking of a program as I want. I could even (gasp...) have a unique look that no other MS app has :-)

So VFP is not superior for creating user interfaces. Its good, but not superior.
