I think mostly happens nothing:
- Modifiy the SP works only with the source code memo field!
- Compiling the SP works in memory and replaces the compiled pseudo code in a small part of a second!
- Running the first SP after opening a database reads the pseudo code into a memory cache - this is the famous "dirty" read, which is handled by by vfp (may be reading the pseudo code delays a little bit if compiling is already running!

Note: My thoughts are only my thoughts <s>, I don't know what really happens!
