Thanks for the "heads up" warning regarding what would happen if I tried my technique with multi-user access on a network DBC; I hadn't considered that. Normally, our DBC's are on our networks, and this would have been a problem. All of my experimenting with this so far has been using a local DBC, and I had kind of been planning to continue going that route.
As far as creating a DBC for each user that contains all the potential view definitions: many of the users would be in our main office and would need potential access to some or all of the 16 divisions' views. It still seems to be that the most efficient route would be to use a local DBC with a single view definition and then switch connections as needed. I am certainly open to advice otherwise, b/c I may be missing something here.
