Thanks, Barbara. So, in theory, one could test for the existence of a TMPFILES directory on app startup. If it doesn't exist, MD the thing. On next startup, that directory would be used. I think?
>I just ran some testing with VFP 7. If I clear out the "Temporary files" path in Tools | Options, and I start VFP in development mode, the temp files end up in the VFP directory, not the directory I'm in. If I launch an EXE from outside of VFP, the temp files end up in the Windows temp directory.

>>Sergey has given you the answer for creating a directory, but the problem is that you're in something of a "Catch 22" for TMPFILES. You see, you have to have VFP already up and running in order to use the MD command, which means VFP has to have already created the temp files in whatever temp directory you want to use. If you can't count on the temp directory being there, and you can't run something to create it from outside your program, it's best to just use the Windows temp directory.
