>I agree. dSalvage was a killer. However, for Visual FoxPro, we need to use something else. Xitech's FoxFix is really good. In fact, it will be part of my January presentation at the Montreal FoxPro User Group where I will present several 3rd party products. As for other tools, we have some in the Files section. So far, I was able to use those to fix my tables. But, I guess, to be better armed, I should consider starting using Xitech's FoxFix soon. :)

Another one to check out is Recover 2.0 by Abri Technologies. It can not only repair FoxPro tables and VFP databases/tables, but also Clipper, Foxbase, dBase III+, and AlphaFive tables. I have it setup in my apps where the user can choose whether to run the data check/repair at startup or select from a menu prompt. It has a trace utility for the highest reliability where the files are checked on
APPEND without any user intervention. I have received updates via email without having to go to the web page and look for updates. I am very pleased with their support and service.

Also, there was a FoxPro Advisor article not too long ago that compared the different file repair utilities.
