Well, yes. My comment was related to the fact that the original thread was about Venus and Jupiter, but had, in the meantime, drifted to another topic (also astronomical).

BTW, you can literally burn your eyes if you try to look at the sun. The recommended (safest) method for sunwatching is the projection method: project the image, from the telescope, onto a piece of white paper. You can usually see large sunspots, if there are any.
