Allan:
>I don't think that we are looking for a RAD.
By that, I assume you mean "toys". Codemine gives me RAD without the toys.
>Intially, native VFP database will be used. Source code would not be shipped with the app.
Well, all frameworks will do native data.
>However, I can see a future requirement to run the applications on the Internet
Codemine has a very powerfull set of data management capabilities which provide a true business object that can be created for use with or without a form. These can be compiled into MTDLL's and driven easily from Web apps.
>MS SQL as a back-end would be required.
Codemine V7 has added and majored on support for SQL-Server/MSDE.
>I would prefer to spend the time and money up front for a stable, robust and well documented framework.
I would say Codemine fits the bill here.
>I have used the Codebook 2.6 in the past for some older apps and was very frustrated by some bugs. When I called for support (again, years ago)I was told (politely) that the Codebook was a 'methodology' and that I had to fix the bugs myself. I wasn't impressed.
Well, thats the difference between a commercial framework and a public domain methodology <s>.
