Hi Alvin,

>Can I install SQL 7 or SQL 2000 on a system running XP?

I've never tried installing SQL7 on XP. I think it should work, but I don't know if there are any special problems.

I'm running the SQL2000 MSDE on XP without problems. You should be aware, that not all versions of SQL-Server can be run on XP Home or XP prof. See http://www.microsoft.com/sql/evaluation/sysreqs/2000/default.asp for details.

BTW: http://www.microsoft.com/sql is the home page for SQL-Server. You can find a lot of information there.

HTH,
Armin
