I'm experiencing an annoying problem that I hope you can help me with. I'm using VFP 6.0 SP5.

Occassionally while in development mode, VFP will attempt to establish an internet connection on its own and I need to know why it's happending. This also happens when using a COM object created in VFP in conjunction with Excel.

I can recreate the situation in VFP development mode as follows:

1. Have an existing internet connection.
2. Start VFP
3. Close existing internet connection.
4. Open VFP Help (Alt-H)


Part of my problem is that I use Norton Systemworks/Firewall that restricts program access to the internet. When Foxpro attempts to create a connection, Norton opens a window asking whether to allow the connection. The window opens behind VFP and I cannot minimize windows or ALT-Tab to get to the Norton window. My only option is to CTRL-ALT-DEL and close VFP. In addition, I have to reboot if I want to establish a subsequent internet connection.
