at one of our recent usergroup meetings, someone showed an application made with the Flipper OCX control (http://www.proworks.com/). He said that it would be very fast and is suitable for a high amount of data that has to displayed in realtime. It supports zooming into diagrams, export functions, etc. I've never used it myself, but the arguments seemed to be convincing. But it's not free ... <g>.
