>Just wandering if anyone knows what the MAX files open in Windows 95 is and if you don't specify a files= in the config.sys what is the default??
the Default files in Windows 95 is 70. you can use fileshigh=xx to load the filehandles in High memory, the Default buffers is 30, again you can use the buffershigh=xx to increase this for better data access if you ahve a lot of smaller files open.
for further information see the config.txt in your windows dir. it lista all the setting you can put in your config.sys and what the default values are.
Hope this help
