Ok, this finally came to a happy end.

- VFP ODBC driver is not included on last MDAC version

- VFP ODBC update in "Spanish" does not work at all

The whole system an applications (specially Development) are all in Spanish.
Then I always tried with the Spanish update VFPCODB.MSI ant it complained about the paths.

When everything failed, I tried the English version and everything worked until now.

It is important to notice for developers working for the international community that system path differ from language to language. In English there is "Program files" whereas in Spanish you'll find "Archivos de Programa".

Most installations are smart enough to ask the OS where to place files, but some other don't and you start to find new folders created at "Program files", specially when downloading shareware or freeware.


Hope this helps other Spanish language users and help them save the time consuming task of finding out what what's happening.

My only thoughts now are.

By installing the VFPODBC.MSI English version, could I have any future problems?

Is this only happening to Windows XP users?
