SETUP: two MSDE db MSDE_A and MSDE_B.
Connectivity between the two:by Internet. Not always available!
NO SQLSERVER available, only MSDE 2000

NEED: MSDE_B has to be daily updated with MSDE_A (let's say at 8PM)

SOLUTION: 1- BACKUP MSDE_A,
2- Copy backup file to MSDE_B location (FTP),
3- RESTORE MSDE_B with MSDE_A backup.

OR

1- PUT MSDE_A Offline
2- Copy .mdf .ldf files locally
3- PUT MSDE_A Online
4- FTP to MSDE_B location
5- PUT MSDE_B Offline
6- overwrite .mdf and .ldf wtih new ones
7- PUT MSDE_B Online

If you have better solutions, PLEASE, feel free to point them out for me.

My problem is that it has to be automated, and I could have 3 different jobs (backup, ftp, restore) scheduled, but this lacks synchronism.

Is there a way with MSDE to do a REMOTE backup (in my example an MSDE_B job whould backup MSDE_A) then a local restore.

Thanks.
