I have a system that does nightly full backups and hourly transaction log backups (SQL 7). Enterprise Manager does not allow you to select network drives as a destination for backups. While this can be accomplished through manually writing stored procedures I do not want to do it because of speed issues. What I am wondering is what methods could be used to transfer the backed up files (as the backups occur) to a remote destination. What I would really like is a way to tap into the name of the file produced by the job (Database Maintenance Planner) and utilze a second step of the job to transfer the file. That way everything is nice and neat and in one place. Also, it would be nice to hear how anyone else has dealt with this same issue. Thanks all.
