According to the documentation, the dictionary file is in xBase format:

"Crystal Reports reads the dictionary file by using the P2ixbse.dll file. This translation file is based on the xBase engine used to access dBASE, FoxPro and Clipper databases, but it provides all the flexibility needed to read dictionaries."

That would be too easy. Unfortunately, I was not able to open the DC5 file in VFP. If I find out more, I'll pass it along.
