I have a potential project in which a client just purchased an IBM Shark (SAN) with 10TB of space and they are partitioning the thing out to their different departments across various countries.

What I am going to create is a VB.Net project w/SQL 2000 backend running on an WIN 2000 server in the main office that will allow them to specify the departments, their location and what drive or partition on the SAN they will have and how much space will be allocated to them. On a daily basis I simply need to poll whatever drive/partition is assigned to them and keep track of the space usage for reporting to charge the departments accordingly for the space they use. I can easily write this program to function against a Windows or Novell Server (I have a mockup working), but is there a way through the .Net framework classes to be able to recognize and return the values of drive/partition size, space used, etc. from a SAN or is there maybe some sort of add on component necessary ???

Any help would be appreciated, TIA !!!

Best Regards,
Jace
